Dark Eldar: Woking Weirdboys.... ESCALATION!
Hi Everyone! Welcome back to the Dark Eldar Series, I’ve had a bit of a break organising a tournament and having x-mas and so on but now I’m back with the bi-week look at everything Dark Eldar.
So having started to write again I had to do something big… I had to Escalate!
Me, Rich and Steve travelled down to Woking Weirdboyz to join in the Lord of War silliness. Only I decided just to take a 1850 list I would take to any tournament and see what a difference it made.

Dark Eldar: Inquisition
So I’m gunna again avoid talking about
Daemons, Some terrible delayage I know! I am though about to talk about
distrustfull allies. But with the new Inquisitoral codex in tow I thought I’d
quickly talk about these guys!
The inquisition… The amount I have been the opposite end of
coteaz seize just isn’t funny…. Especially as those seizes and normally from
another DoG member… They know I hate him!
Seizes are definatly pretty bad especially for Deldar, Question
is… is there anything in the book for us?

Dark Eldar: Army building mistakes
Hi everyone I was meant to be doing an article on more desperate allies but due to myself being concussed (Long story…) todays will be a small blog about the common errors I always see in a Dark Eldar Lists
Now I’m not going to sit here and say that everything I do is correct or else.... I’m open to new theories, new ways of using my Dark Eldar. There are plenty more ways but there are some fundamental things I have learned in my 20 or so tournaments with these guys now (Not sick of them just yet!)

Dark Eldar: Octoberfest 2013 – Distrustful allies!
Ok so having come off a disappointing result in the GT Heat, I went into Octoberfest wanting to do something different. I’d already mentioned on the blog that I wanted to go distrustful allies way. And this is the route I took…
Please note in Mayhem it is a degree of Victory tournament and the main focus on it is troops and the ability to take objectives. Therefore in the below list I’ve taken less venoms/Trueborn in order to get more troops into it.

Dark Eldar: Brighton GT Heat 2
Fresh from my good showing at woking weirdboyz, I approached the GT in good spirits and my dark elder working pretty well. So how did I do?
All levels of megh… but I’ll get onto that in a bit.
The GT took over from the GW run event a while ago and has been going on ever since. It copies GW in that it’s a heat to final form and we went to Heat 2 held in Brighton.

Dark Eldar: Woking Weirdboyz
Dark Eldar: Woking
Weirdboyz
Hello everyone welcome to this times editions sorry it’s a
little late!
Woking weird boyz is held in a pub in central Woking. 28 people took
arms and we fought tooth and nail above the pub for some snazzy trophies. Run
by James French, he had lowered the points limit to 1650 pts to match the GT so
people could use this as practice.

Dark Eldar: Desperate Allies: Choices!
So as the veritable storm of new Codex’s appear to have ground to a halt for now and the next one rumoured to be tyranids, it seems like a good time as any to revisit Allies. Allies, initially controversial, now are an excepted part of the game. It allows a better variety of armies and isn’t the overpowered game breaking mechanic many people thought it was.
Dark Eldar can ally with A LOT of armies. Unfortunately these are mainly desperate allies except of course Eldar. However considering how popular this duo is, I’ll leave the rest of the internet to tell you can get fortune on a beast pack and the baron and that gives him a 2+ reroll able invulnerable save. The more interesting choices are the desperate allies. Are these useable? If so which ones? Well let’s have a look shall we?

Dark Eldar: Woking War Tournament
So obviously with our tournament around the corner, I’m busy organising
and meeting and greeting, sorting out the final details with my brother with Ru
and the rest of the Death or Glory team. So I popped into Tolworth first
founding to sort out the boards and Ian Courtney came up to me and asked whether
I’d like to play at Woking war…. It was a 1 day event and my girlfriend was
away all during the week, so I thought what the hell! And packed my Dark Eldar
and off I went!
Woking War is held at the Maybury centre in Woking and is an offshoot
from the Tolworth first founding. A lot of people use this tournament as attest
for the mayhem tournament and the DoG tournament. A lot of tournament regulars
were testing out their DoG army lists and so I was up against a few tough
opponents.
The system was at a net victory points plus fifteen to a maximum of 30
points, so a margin of victory tournament… I had no idea what to expect!

Dark Eldar: Brighton Warlords Tournament
Hey guys and welcome along to the next chapter of my Dark Eldar blog. I love tournaments and this next one is definitely one of the best. Brighton Warlords was a 1650 pt., forge world allowed tournament in which secondary objectives didn’t count for who won the game, but contributed bonus points each round. I was quite sceptical about this rule but stormed on regardless. I was coming off a 5th place from Aldershot and the only way was up right?

Dark Eldar: Aldershot Ardboyz - June 2013 – Part 2
So back to Aldershot. I had 3 more games to play, 3 awesome opponants
to face and a lot of coke zero to drink as the temperature was incredibly high!
I was well placed on two wins and went into game 4 ready and willing!

Dark Eldar: Aldershot Ardboyz - June 2013 – Part 1
So as I said last time, I was on my way to my first tournament with the new Eldar. This was my first tournament in a while due to weddings and pull outs meaning my last tournament was back in March. So once more unto the Breach my friends! I went with the Dark Eldar army from last times blog. This is part 1!

Dark Eldar: Eldar Allies take 2 – Part 3 (Troops and first list)
Lets finish of the Eldar Allies review quickly with a look at troops and there incredibly awesome troop transport! I’ll then tell you what army I made with these new allies . The next blog weill tell you exactually how I did and what changes I will make to the list!Monday, 1 July 2013
Dark Eldar: Eldar Allies take 2 – Part 2 (Fast Attack and Heavy Support)
So with a cheeky review of Elites and HQ in the bag, today I’m
focusing on 2 very strong areas Fast Attack and Heavy Support. I’ve decided to separate
troops from this countdown and include it in the next blog focusing on how a
dark elder can use eldar allies. Let’s face it Fast attack and heavy support
are a bit more exciting than troops!!Monday, 17 June 2013
Dark Eldar: Eldar Allies take 2 – Part 1 (HQ and Elites)
So for the first time since the start of the rollercoaster
ride we call 6th edition we have something that allows for a realistic choice
in allies. The Eldar dex got me very excited…. A new way to play? Maybe!
Certainly a few options really makes me wanna do a mushkilla style reserve army
with jet bikes and so on. New options really make this ally much better than
before. Below I’ll take a look at the units in the codex and have a go at
rating them in the context of an ally. I’ll use the xx/x/-/+/++ scale when
rating each unit. Unfortunately with the sheer size of the book this will have
to be in 2 instalments but I’ll try and get the second instalment out early for
everyone!Monday, 3 June 2013
Dark Eldar: Mathhammer part 2
Hi and welcome to path 2 of Mathhammer. Today I’m gunna
build an army with mathhammer in mind. Dark elder are THE mathammer army, no
other army can spam the way dark elder can. Why? Because splinter cannons will always
put the same amount of wounds on any target it shoots and Lances will generally
pen exactly the same amount for every target they shoot (av 10/11 aside here)
and wound the same amount for the target it shoots (Wraithlords/Talos/New big
elder thingy aside)Monday, 20 May 2013
Dark Eldar: Mathhammer Part 1
Dark Eldar: Mathhammer Part 1
So with the introduction of the Tau Empire, I was looking at
moving back to a pure Dark Eldar army. The tricksy tricks of eldrad don’t
provide a solution to tau whose rate of fire can only be combatted with…. Rate of
fire and possibly speed. The question I now have facing me is well….. what
should the make up of dark light and splinter weaponry be? Well the answer may
lie in a bit of Mathhammer!

Dark Eldar: Nemesis - Tau
.jpg)
Dark Eldar:
Nemesis - Tau
I’m going to take a bit of a different approach to nemesis
than my previous articles. Perhaps it’s time to tell you how id face an opponent
and not just say how good or bad we are against them! Our Subject is Tau, the
new kids on the block and the new thing in the internet. The normal discussion
is….. How many Str 7 shots did you fit in? I Have 80….
Scary but are we, Dark Eldar, scared? Well let’s have a
look!

Dark Eldar: Aldershot Ardboyz April 2013

Dark Eldar: Aldershot Ardboyz April 2013
It’s been a
long while since our last tournament, due to the after effect of a certain stag
do floored me for a week and so when the Aldershot reared into the ever present
I felt happy and relieved that finally I had a tournament to go to. Aldershot
is an 1850 pt. tournament, held by our very own James French in Aldershot Games
shop. It’s a rulebook tournament with a win lose draw system with a few soft
scores and the like. After gearing up after a few list tweaks, I was finally
ready to go and this is how I fared…

Dark Eldar: 1500pts
I mentioned last time about the lowering of the tournament points values to a lower value. (due to the time it takes to complete a game) Now if 1500 pts is the future what would be in my first draft list? I’m gunna have a go at reducing my list down and I’ll throw out some tips along the way.

Dark Eldar: List Reduction
Dark Eldar: List Reduction
So currently I’ve talked about my armies as if they are going to be 1850 pts. From the sounds of the noise coming from the GT final this weekend, a tournament I couldn’t get to due to food poisioning after the Stag do of Mr Luke Nurser, that tournaments are likely to decrease in points leave down to something more like 1500-1600 points. So the question is how does a dark eldar army need to change?
