Dark Eldar: The Caledonian Uprising

Dark Eldar: The Caledonian Uprising

So my first tourney of the year and what an experience it was! The northern tournament scene is very different to the southern scene. A lot of this is due to the major players and generally what they succeed with. In the north there’s always a shift towards the major list, the Meta list if you like. Whereas in the south, there is a weird aversion to this list time. When imperial guard ruled the north, space wolves ruled the south. When Grey Knights ruled the north, Necrons ruled the south.

So with this in mind I launched into my next tournament with a sense of apprehension. Thanks to Dave and Franco for letting me stay at there’s in Nottingham and on the Saturday I and Luke ventured into the eye of the storm.

Tournament Gamers Painting Masterclass 7: Michael Bolton – Necrons

Tournament Gamers Painting Masterclass 7: Michael Bolton – Necrons

Michael Bolton. A famous American singer songwriter renowned for his soft rock ballads. He’s not however known for his painting prowess. His name sake however is! Michael is a veteran of the tournament scene having been around for year and years. We crossed paths in the Master open tournament in January 2011. I was told before my first game ‘Expect to see something wacky’. Of course what this person meant by this was expect to see 27 ogryns…. He recently placed in the painting for the GT heat 3 and so i got in touch. Michael plays around the Nottingham area going to as many Mansfield and Nottingham tournaments and if your there say hi to him!have a look at his own blog here http://22michaelb.wordpress.com/ but for now just read his amazing story!

Dark Eldar: Nemesis part 2 – Grey Knights

Dark Eldar: Nemesis part 2 – Grey Knights

So last time we looked at imperial guard. But what about Grey Knights? They first came onto scene when mayhem released and I remember playing grey knights and the Brighton warlord’s tournament. I was thoroughly trounced (by Rich!) As such I found that Grey Knights were just as bad as imperial guard, and they were new and exciting. So let’s have a look at them and see what’s changed.

Tournament Gamers Painting Masterclass 6: David Alegre Castro – Daemons

Tournament Gamers Painting Masterclass 6: David Alegre Castro – Daemons

Now it’s the new year I guess it’s time for me to be a bit continental right? David is a member of the Spanish ETC team and recently he went and competed at Heat 3 of the GT. Now all I’ve seen are positive remarks about him and his team mates. What delighted me more was that his daemon army looks stunning! What David has produced, with a bit of imagination, shows how crazy you can be with the daemon army. And so here’s David to tell us more about it.

A New Year, A New Project (Fallenwing)

So let me start by saying Happy New Year and apologising for my absence over the last month. Christmas is always a busy time of year for me but although I haven’t done any painting it gave me plenty of time to brainstorm.

So the idea...
