Crazy List Project...

So I notice that Luke has already posted about this but without much explanation in his article "chapter master army of doom".

One of the things we as a team like to promote above all other things in 40k is to have fun. Now sometimes to achieve that fun we just like to smash people in games. However we also enjoy the game in different ways, one of those is by constructing silly lists that would be fun and cinematic to play with and against.

So the idea of this is to make something a bit different army wise not Tau or Eldar the so called meta, and see how it sits up to the challenge of tournament play. If any of these lists are successful you may even see them at Death or Glory 2 in March (shameless plug) for our second tournament, I know.

We have only got a few rules to this in terms of list building, it either needs to be very small or large model count, or have a crazy combo of army's. It could be desperate allies for example as Mike has been talking about, or a shoebox army something so small that it fits in a small box to make ease of transport easy.  It could also just have a big rock unit in it like Luke is doing.

Here is an example of a Draigowing with a twist to get you thinking.

Draigo

1x Paladin with hammer
1x Paladin with hammer
1x Paladin with hammer
1x Paladin with hammer
1x Paladin with hammer
1x Paladin with hammer

Dreadknight with personal teleporter, heavy incinerator
Dreadknight with personal teleporter, heavy incinerator
Dreadknight with personal teleporter, heavy incinerator

Vindicare assassin
Calidus assassin

All got 2+ save an multiple wounds, can be in your face with Dreadknights and deep striking every paladin can cast holocaust.

Obviously this list is very small being only 12 models for about 1750 points all models are single man units, but could you have fun playing with it YES. Now I'm not suggesting this is the new meta by any stretch, but I think we get hung up on that a little too much.

What do you think? and what sort of list would you do? (please nobody say flying circus daemons)...

As always thanks for reading.

  1. Hate to say it Rich, but there is no way that this army is fitting in a small shoe box, not with 3 dreadknights!!
I like it though, I'd probably drop Caladis for swords on the knights and bits on Paladins
